    It's time for bunco!

    The Westwego Civic Association, 1220 Ave. H, is hosting a bunco Saturday. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the game starts at 8 p.m. The cost is $10 a person. Join us for good food and a good time.

    The association recently held an installation ceremony at its hall. Members enjoyed a meal before the ceremony. Newly elected officers were installed by Kenneth Breaux. The officers are Shelly Badeaux, president; Randy Boffone, first vice president; Jo Ann Bourg, second vice president; Gina Rivere, recording secretary; Priscilla Guidry, financial secretary; Barbara Massarini, corresponding secretary; Terry Schule, treasurer; and Mildred Aupied and Chuck Schule, sergeants at arms.

    Let's celebrate Veterans Day.

    The Westwego Historical Society is sponsoring a Veterans Day salute, presented by the National World War II Museum's speakers bureau, on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Westwego Performing Arts Theatre, 177 Sala Ave.

    Admission is free, but tickets are limited to two per family. Tickets are available at the Westwego Historical Museum, 275 Sala Ave. For information, call 504.341.3161.

    The Westwego Farmers and Fisheries Market will host special Veterans Day events Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.; the market opens at 8:30 a.m. Events include a display by the Regional Military Museum, Jefferson Parish; the Young Marines color guard; and a flag retirement ceremony. The first 100 visitors will receive a flag pin.

    The Knights of Columbus participated in an honor guard request for new Archbishop Gregory Aymond at Immaculate Conception Church on Sept. 22. Two assemblies dressed out for the event. In Monsignor Paul J. Richard's assembly were Danny Thibodaux, Rennan Duffour, Don Ducote, Charlie Darsey, Warren Deemer, David Raines, George Boudreaux, Richard Bourgeois and Billy "LSU" Sanchez.

    In the Rev. T.J. Larkin's assembly were Troy Dendinger, Robert Rau, Kenneth Leblanc, Adolph Lachmann, Roy Leblanc, Frank Falgoust and George Wedge.
