FRIENDS OF MEL OTT PARK
Friends Of Mel Ott Park, on Belle Chasse Highway in Gretna, invite the public to its first holiday bazaar on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. The event will feature food, crafts, hayrides, face painting, shopping and fall photos. All proceeds go to the enhancement of Mel Ott Park. Call 504.361.7748.
'IN THE COMPANY OF HEROES'
"In the Company of Heroes,'' an event to raise money for servicemen seriously injured in Iraq or Afghanistan, will be Nov. 12 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the National World War II Museum.
The event, featuring cuisine from some of the finest New Orleans restaurant, open bar and entertainment, offers guests the opportunity to celebrate the service of men and women from all branches of the military.

LAKE PONTCHARTRAIN BASIN FOUNDATION
The Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation will hold its 17th annual Save Our Lake and Coast "Let's Make Waves" Party and Silent Auction on Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Pontchartrain Yacht Club in Mandeville. The event will include food, cocktails and the chance to bid on silent auction items. Individual tickets are available for $50 in advance and $60 at the door. All proceeds from the party will help to continue efforts to restore and preserve the Pontchartrain Basin.
