HISTORY LECTURE SERIES
Nunez Community College's next installment of its History Lecture Series will take place Monday??? at 7 p.m. at the Nunez Auditorium in Chalmette. A wine and cheese reception will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Steve Berrien, Nunez vice chancellor for Academic Affairs, will discuss "The Role of New Orleans in the Rise of Rock 'n' Roll." His lecture will include a multimedia presentation that will explore what the music scene was like in the 1940s and 1950s. He also will look into the reasons this music genre developed when it did and why New Orleans played a significant, but limited, role in that development.
Lectures are held on the first Monday of each month during the school year with the exception of January. All lectures are free and open to the public.
