Hair salon to donate to Susan G. Komen
Susan G. Komen for the Cure, formerly known as The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, is the largest breast cancer charity in the world, having raised more than $1.3 billion for research, education and health services since 1982.
St. Bernard Parish residents can help raise money for the foundation and get a makeover at the same time today through Saturday at Avalon Hair Design, 8309 W. Judge Perez Drive, which will donate 25 percent of its proceeds to the charity. Patrons who visit the salon should mention they are there "to fight for the cure."
