'Beautiful' affiliates will hold meeting
Three local affiliates will roll out the red carpet for a Keep Louisiana Beautiful meeting Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Slidell City Council Chambers, 1330 Bayou Lane, Suite 110.
Hosted by Keep Slidell Beautiful, Keep Covington Beautiful and Keep Mandeville Beautiful, the meeting will include lunch, a tour of Olde Towne Slidell and spotlight presentations by each of the local affiliates for Keep Louisiana Beautiful Executive Director Leigh Harris and affiliate services coordinator Melanie Peck.
In addition to addresses by Keep Mandeville Beautiful Executive Director Susan Russell and Keep Covington Beautiful Executive Director Priscilla Floca, Keep Slidell Beautiful Executive Director Bill Mauser will introduce a long list of KSB activists touting successful local projects.
Slidell City Court Judge Jim Lamz will discuss the city's Community Service Program; Bonne educators Mary Clement and Denise Nelon of Ecole Elementary School and Honey Island Elementary School discussing the KSB Education Program in their respective schools.
The public is invited to attend the seminar.
Keep Louisiana Beautiful is a state nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote personal, corporate and community responsibility for a clean and beautiful Louisiana. Affiliated with Keep America Beautiful, the program creates and supports public-private partnerships that deal with the problems of litter.
