SILVER ROSE RUN
The Knights of Columbus will participate in the Silver Rose Run program in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas.
The Silver Rose will pass through Slidell today between 3:30 and 4 p.m. and stop at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church for a special program beginning at 4 p.m. at 1050 Robert Blvd.
The Silver Rose Run began May 20 in Ontario, Canada, and continues through the United States to Monterrey, Mexico, where it is scheduled to arrive Dec. 12, the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
The Louisiana route covers 700 miles with scheduled overnight stops for special prayer services to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe.
MEN AND WOMEN'S DAY
Pentecost Baptist Church invites the public to its annual Men and Women's Day program today at 36138 Shady Lane. The women's program will be held at 11 a.m. The speaker for the program will be Constance C. Woods of Greater Liberty Church of New Orleans.
The men's program will be held at 4 p.m. The speaker will be former Pentecost pastor, the Rev. Louis Lumzy, pastor of Springhill Missionary Baptist Church in Prentiss, Miss.
