CROSS COUNTRY RACE
Slidell High School's Cross Country Team will sponsor a 1-mile/5-K run on Dec. 5. The race begins at 10 a.m. on the school's track.
Race registration is from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on the day of the race. Early registration through the school is encouraged. All money raised goes to the Cross Country Team.
The cost is $15 for early registration which includes a long-sleeved T-shirt. Pre-register by Nov. 23 at Slidell High School. Registration on the day of the race is $5 and does not include a shirt.
TENNIS TOURNAMENT
The 10th annual Tennis Tournament benefiting Children's Wish Endowment and STARC will be held Dec. 3-6 at Cross Gates Family Fitness in Slidell.
Sponsors are being sought for this fun and competitive tournament, wiith sponsors receiving recognition, free drink tickets, raffle tickets, and team entries.
Teams also are being registered for the event. Men's and women's doubles (Open, A, B and C Divisions) will play. The cost is $30 per person or $60 per team (plus one can of USTA approved balls. The deadline to register is Nov. 30 (no exceptions). Brackets will be limited to 16 teams. A winner's consolation tournament also will be held.
This fundraiser will help STARC continue to offer programs and services to infants, children and adults challenged with disabilities; and help Children's Wish continue to grant wishes to special children with terminal or life-threatening illnesses.
