West St. John High
The West St. John High Student Council is a planning several activities for homecoming week Oct. 26-30.
Dress down days are planned. Spirit day will be held Oct. 30. Volleyball and basketball games and a powder puff football game are among other highlights.
The homecoming court members are seniors A'kia Harper, Rasheda Gros, Talar Lewis and Shondreka August; juniors Gionne Burke, Dajae Lumar, Brittany Tuco and Jasmine Stewart; sophomores Lastisha Jupiter and Deshera Gros; freshmen Tameka Dennis, Janada Ketchins and Tantayana Smith; and eighth-graders Shalacy Sterling, Latisha Bailey and Ebonie Bethancourt.

The school recently held GEE/LEAP/iLeap Night to provide parents and students with tips to help students perform well on standardized tests.
Parents also received information on how to interpret their child's standardized test scores.

Eighth-graders are invited to attend Saturday Strategy classes Saturday and Oct. 31. at the St. John School Board Office in Reserve. Students who attend both classes will be treated to a meal at Sicily's.

The school received its performance score last week. The score rose by 5.7 points, resulting in WSJH's performance label to become a 2-star school. All students and teachers are encouraged to keep up the good work.
