Drama Club opens 'Miss Nelson' today
Hahnville High Drama Club will present "Miss Nelson is Missing," today and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. at the school, U.S. 90, Boutte.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students 18 and younger. Family Day admission on Sunday is $5, and children 7 and younger will be admitted free.
Eugenie Smith, a HHS teacher and St. Charles Parish's high school teacher of the year, will perform as Miss Nelson, the too-nice teacher who can't control her crazy classroom until the evil Miss Swamp arrives.
Daniel Ruiz is the director.

Book sale. Friends of St. Charles Library will hold a book sale Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Book Nook, next to the Hahnville Library on River Road.
Also, a pumpkin decorating class for teens 12 and older will be held Oct. 29 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Hahnville Library.

Confirmation. Several young people at St. Mark Church in Ama received the Sacrament of Confirmation Oct. 6.

Family day. St. Mark and St. Anthony Catholic churches hosted Family Day on Oct. 11 at St. Anthony Community Center in Lulng.
A jambalaya and white beans dinner was provided by the Knights of Columbus. Bingo also was a highlight.
