Civic center plans Christmas parade
The Norco Civic Association is planning the annual Christmas parade Dec. 6 through Norco.
"Norco Noel: Christmas on the River" will be the theme. Participants are asked to include either a River Parishes tradition-based float or anything depicting the river, such as water or swamps.
A parade meeting will be Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Norco Civic Center Hall.

The Norco Area Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary has named Steve Mauduit as firefighter of the month for September and Chief Tommy Barreca for October.

Knights news.
The Knights of Columbus Red Church Council 3634 has named Noble Benoit as knight of the month for October; and Kevin and Holly Ericksen as family of the month for October.
The council will sponsor a float in the Norco Christmas parade Dec. 6. The float's theme will be "Kids Kicking Cancer." After the parade, the council will hold a party for children with cancer.
Also, bingo will be held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Knights home.

Fall fest. The River Parishes Fall Festival will be held Nov. 13 to 15 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and School in Norco.
Rides, bands, games, food and other entertainment will be featured.
