Food commodities to be distributed today
Total Community Action Inc. will distribute donated food commodities to needy families under the Food Assistance Program for Orleans Parish residents today from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. A variety of items will be available for distribution.
Commodities will be given on a first-come, first served basis to people with blue commodity cards at the following locations:
-- Central City EOC, 2020 Jackson Ave.; 504.524.3484.
-- Algiers Fischer Community Center, 1111 Newton St.; 504.366.6321.
-- St. Bernard Community Center, 3233 1/2 St. Bernard Ave.; 504.945.0011.
-- Desire Florida Area Community Council, 2014 Caffin Ave.; 504.942.1472.
Rules for acceptance and participation in the program are the same for everyone without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex or handicap. Anyone alleging discrimination may file a written or verbal complaint within 180 days of the alleged discriminatory action with Total Community Action Inc. at 2020 Jackson Ave., New Orleans, LA 70113 or by calling 504.524.1383.
