'Ghost in Oaks' fun way to spend evening
Halloween can be fun without being scary if you take part in City Park's third annual "Ghost In The Oaks" Friends of City Park Halloween event on Friday at Storyland and the Carousel Gardens Amusement Park. Families are encouraged to dress in costume and enjoy trick-or-treating, crafts, rides, face painting, a pumpkin patch and friendly ghost stories.
Tickets are $20 for people who enter from 6-7 p.m.; and $12 for Friends members and $15 for non-members who enter at 7 p.m. The "bootiful" night ends at 10 p.m. and proceeds benefit the amusement park and Storyland.
"Ghosts in the Oaks" offers "a family-fun alternative to the traditional holiday antics that involve haunted houses and such," said Rodney Thoulion, executive director of Friends of City Park. For information, call Thoulion at 504.483.9376.
