The Jefferson Parish Public Works Department of Parkways has received the Roadside Excellence Award from the National Roadside Vegetation Management Association (NRVMA).
NRVMA is an educational, non-profit organization dedicated to providing expertise, solutions and networking opportunities to personnel involved in integrated roadside vegetation management. It is a network of federal, state, county, city, university and industry personnel working to create and maintain safe, beautiful roadsides.
The award was presented last month at the annual NRVMA convention in San Antonio, Texas. The parkways department, represented by Lance Stansberry, Superintendent III and Don Cole, Horticulturist, for its grass cutting program, herbicide application and tree maintenance program on medians and canals.
Kai Adams, director of parkways was unable to attend.
Jefferson Parish received the award in the county/parish category at this NRVMA event.
