Sheriff suspends St. John deputy
A St. John the Baptist Parish sheriff's deputy has been suspended without pay after an internal investigation into a citizen's complaint revealed he violated Sheriff's Office conduct codes, a spokesman said Thursday.
The deputy, Pedro Luna, was recently suspended after an internal investigation, said Capt. Dane Clement, a spokesman for the Sheriff's Office. Clement did not know how long Luna had been on suspension.
The nature of the complaint concerning Luna was not released by the Sheriff's Office.
Clement did say that Luna, a Sheriff's Office crime scene investigator, did not violate any criminal codes and that Sheriff Wayne L. Jones said he feels the issue "is solely a personnel issue and will be handled accordingly."
