I-55 lane closed until Nov. 15
A lane of Interstate 55 in St. John the Baptist Parish will be closed until next month while crews install sign trusses.
The right southbound lane of I-55 will be closed until Nov. 15, according to a news release from the state Department of Transportation and Development.
The release said crews will work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday; however, the lane will remain closed 24 hours a day until the project is completed.
One lane will be open to traffic at all times.
To avoid the lane closure, the release said motorists may take exit 7 at Ruddock and drive south on I-55 Service Road to exit 1 at LaPlace.
