Airport briefly loses power
Entergy Louisiana said it was investigating why electricity feeders failed Thursday about 8:45 a.m., cutting power to Louis Armstrong International Airport, Kenner City Hall and 1,756 other customers in south Kenner.
Power was restored to everyone in about 45 minutes, company spokesman Philip Allison said.
Airport spokeswoman Michelle Wilcut described the outage as an "operational challenge." It didn't cause major problems, but airport travelers were not able to go though the security gates, Wilcut said.
Many airlines had emergency power at ticket counters so they could check people in, she said.
Wilcut said she didn't know whether any flights were delayed but said the outage did not happen during a peak travel time.
