Lost in a cab in New Orleans
Re: "Taxi makes a bad impression," Your Opinions, Nov. 3.
I could have written the same letter in September when I had a scary ride home from the airport.
Something needs to be done to prevent such awful experiences. We citizens must demand that airport taxi drivers speak to us civilly, know the city, keep cabs clean and in working order and do not try to overcharge us.
I, too, am ashamed for visitors to our city who may take the cab I was unlucky to get. Well, at least the driver probably knows how to get to a downtown hotel, though he knew nothing about St. Charles Avenue.
